Summer Pavilion

The Summer Pavilion is a small retreat set within a pine forest near the beach, extending an existing building. Designed for a small family and used exclusively during the summer, the pavilion is organised around a flexible sequence of living spaces.
Sliding screens divide the interior, allowing the rooms to be combined or separated according to the number of occupants. The spaces can also open entirely towards the landscape, with some becoming covered terraces that extend the living areas outdoors.
Raised on stilts, the pavilion is built entirely in timber using a single structural section of 20 × 20 cm for both columns and beams. Walls, floors, and ceilings are made of timber boards. All components are assembled without metal fixings, resulting in a simple and lightweight construction system.
