Pärnu Grand Hotel
Pärnu, Estonia
The Grand Hotel in Pärnu is located beside the Rannahotell, a historic building designed by Olev Siinmaa in 1937, in one of the best-known resorts on the Baltic Sea.
The project seeks to renew Pärnu’s tradition as a summer destination while extending the hotel’s activity into the winter months. Its seaside facilities are complemented by a spa that draws on the medicinal properties of the local waters, as well as a conference centre, restaurants and bars.
The building follows a sinuous plan parallel to the coastline, orienting its spaces towards the south and the Baltic Sea. The lower floors accommodate the public areas, while the upper levels are reserved for guests, providing 220 rooms and suites.
The relationship with the Rannahotell is established through the building’s scale, horizontal expression and use of external galleries and balconies.
