Herdade da Boina Hotel
Portimão, Algarve
Herdade da Boina occupies a former forest estate in the hills north of Portimão, in a landscape defined by valleys, ridges, watercourses and dense woodland.
Set on the crest of a hill, the hotel is organised around a large inner garden conceived as a hortus conclusus: a sheltered, enclosed space contrasting with the ruggedness and openness of the surrounding landscape.
The guest rooms are arranged around the perimeter of the complex, each opening individually towards the landscape. Every unit extends into a small private garden, screened from the neighbouring rooms, reinforcing the relationship between interior space, nature and privacy.
The communal areas — restaurant, café, swimming pools and spa — are concentrated at one end of the building, establishing a privileged relationship with the landscape.
