Grand Hotel – Meia Praia

2nd Prize, Invited Competition
The Meia Praia Hotel is a tourist complex located along the coastline of Lagos, near the city’s harbour. The complex comprises a hotel, a tourist residential building and a series of small weekend houses, integrated into a masterplan that establishes new relationships between the city and the beach.
The project transforms the site’s natural conditions into a continuous landscape, structured around a small woodland, a lake, gardens, the existing dunes and the extensive beachfront. Each building acts as a transition between the urban fabric and the beach, exploring the potential of both environments.
The buildings become integral elements of this landscape.
