Grand Hotel – Meia Praia

The Meia Praia Hotel is a tourist complex located along the coastline of Lagos, near the city’s harbour. The complex comprises several buildings, including a hotel, a tourist residential building, and a series of small weekend houses, integrated into a masterplan that establishes new relationships between the city and the beach.
The project transforms the site’s natural conditions into a coherent landscape ecosystem, structured around a variety of environments: a small woodland, a lake, several gardens, the existing dunes, and the extensive beachfront where the complex is situated. Each building acts as a transition between the urban fabric and the beach, exploring the potential of both environments and bringing them together within a unified landscape.
The buildings become integral elements of this landscape. Their form and programme respond to their specific position within the park and to their relationship with the surrounding environment, establishing a hierarchy of uses across the site while reinforcing the continuity between the built and natural realms.
