Considering the exceptional character of the Troia peninsula—its fragile environmental balance, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Serra da Arrábida—the project is conceived as a careful integration into the existing landscape. Four gardens are designed to recreate the endemic ecosystems of this vast territory, shaped by the convergence of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences.
These gardens are framed by circular, modular buildings that accommodate the residential units. Oriented towards the surrounding landscape, the buildings establish a continuous relationship with the natural environment, allowing the protected territory to remain the dominant element of the composition.
At the centre of the complex, the resort’s collective facilities are gathered around a sequence of shared spaces, including atriums, public areas, bars and restaurants, social and wellness facilities, sports areas and swimming pools.
The buildings are elevated on piles and constructed using timber frame systems, minimizing their impact on the terrain while responding to the site’s sensitive ecological conditions. The project also includes the restoration of the extensive coastal dune system and the preservation of the habitats and microclimates that define this unique landscape.
