Lake House
Portimão, Algarve
The house is set on a hillside beside the reservoir, extending horizontally beneath the shade of an old eucalyptus grove and maintaining a constant relationship with the water and the surrounding landscape.
Arranged on a single level, it is organised into three wings — social, private and service — which follow the topography and enclose a private garden. At its centre, the swimming pool and outdoor living areas form the focus of life outside the house.
The disposition of the different volumes preserves privacy between the various areas, while framing views towards the reservoir and extending the main interior spaces into the landscape.
Architecture, garden and territory form a continuous sequence of spaces, where the domestic scale merges with the presence of the water and the eucalyptus grove
