Casquilho Nascente, Affordable Collective Housing

The project proposes a low-density residential complex structured by the relationship between architecture, topography and public space. Five buildings are staggered along the hillside, adapting to the terrain while ensuring optimal orientation, sunlight and views for each residence.

At the centre of the complex, a new plaza brings together the main pedestrian routes and entrances to the buildings, creating a space sheltered from traffic and forming the heart of the residential complex.

Parking is located entirely beneath the plaza, freeing the surface for pedestrians and allowing the communal space to become the organising element of the development.

The scale and configuration of this central space establish a distinct identity for the complex while mediating between the individual buildings and the surrounding urban landscape.
